HRE4 was selected as best innovation project in hybrid systems
The Steering Committee of the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-ETIP) selected HRE4 as best innovative project in the technology category of hybrid systems. The call for innovation projects, launched in March, focused on publicly or privately funded innovative projects that have already reached a relatively advanced phase and able to present concrete achievements.
The project stood out in the category of hybrid systems through its use of a holistic and comprehensive analysis including both energy savings and different kinds of renewable heat supply and by combining the expertise of different sectors in four models to accurately understand and quantify the impacts of energy efficiency and renewables in 14 EU member states.
As the prize, Heat Roadmap Europe won a feature presentation during the event “Innovation in the Renewable Heating and Cooling sector” at the European Union Sustainable Energy Week, which took place on 21st June 2017 at the Résidence Palace in Brussels. The session highlighted innovative projects in the renewable heating and cooling sector, with a view to discuss the conditions to support innovations in the renewable heating and cooling sector and to highlight research priorities to be addressed in the future.
